Head of Data Analytics - Ignitis
Own the data function for Lithuania and Latvia by leading a cross-functional team of data professionals.
- Grew the team from 3 data analysts to 18 people, spanning Data Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Stewards and Data Scientists.
- Built an internal data platform using Airflow, SQL Server, dbt, and Microsoft Fabric, housing over 80 distinct data sources.
- Led Power BI adoption by creating actionable reports, reaching all business units, with 520 active users.
- Established a Data Governance programme to increase data quality and define data ownership.
- Created multiple data products on the data platform and on Kubernetes, including:
- A smart meter API service serving customer-facing systems at subsecond latency;
- A physical address service used by other internal systems as a source of truth;
- An internal AI agent helping customer support employees;
- A reverse ETL service to capture EV station incidents, resulting in an 80% reduction in client complaints.
- Drove GitHub Copilot adoption in the organisation by running workshops and holding a monthly AI Ambassador meetup.
Senior Data Analyst - Ignitis
Served reporting needs as well as advanced analytical use cases, and managed the backlog and work of three analysts.
- Developed ETL pipelines to centralise data and ensure faster turnaround time for new data requests.
- Segmented the client base by combining multiple data sources and applying PCA, resulting in 4 distinct customer profiles that informed client-facing communication.
- Co-authored a Data Governance standard, paving the way for the role of Data Stewards in the organisation.
- Interviewed potential data analysts to backfill the team.
Data Analyst - Ignitis
Met reporting and data extraction needs of commercial, finance and wholesale business units using a suite of analytical tools: Power BI, SQL, R, Python and Power Automate.
- Conducted data operations related to energy deregulation, ensuring accurate and timely regulatory submissions and marketing campaigns.
- Introduced version control for the team’s codebase to replace shared-drive files and ensure work does not get lost.
- Built an internal R library to facilitate data extraction tasks and reduce turnaround time.

Supported the Global Claims team with data preparation, quality control and reporting across global claims data using R and Tableau.

Earlier career
Before data, I spent five years doing research on cell morphology at the Institute of Anatomy, LSMU (2013 – 2018) and co-authored four peer-reviewed papers. Alongside it, I coached high-school students for the Biology Olympiad (2016 – 2019) — a student I tutored won a silver medal internationally in 2018.
